Beta v1.0.0 Update


It has been a long time since I've updated this game, but lately I felt motivated to give it a go, and even though it was pretty overwhelming due to the immense amount of spaghetti code I had for it, I think it was worth the time investment, and now most of the systems I wanted for the game are working or at least implemented. I had to rework A LOT of stuff, almost all interfaces (if not all of them to be honest), but now it should be in a playable state, at least for a beta.

I want to gather some feedback before moving on to adding actual content, especially regarding bugs and broken things. Some things are still placeholders, especially in the audio department, but if you're one of the few people that played this game before you should be excited about the state it is in now, and can expect more content in the future.

Now, without further ado, let's list the changes in this version!

Changelog Beta v1.0.0

New Features:

  • Added Pets;
  • Added Soul Gem System;
    • With this you can upgrade your character further with special gems that you can equip to your pet;
  • Added Gem Alchemy;
    • Use Soul Shards dropped from bosses to create Soul Gems;
  • Added Gem Melding;
    • Meld unwanted Soul Gems into new ones;
  • Added new items to shops;
  • Added throwable items;
  • Added Bestiary;
    • Check information and stats about the enemies you've defeated;
  • Added "Skills" System;
    • Some weapons will now come with special skills that can be used like magic;
  • Added 5 new hairstyles

Changes:

  • Revamped all character sprites;
  • Removed the race perks system, now races are only cosmetical;
  • Rebalanced the initial classes starting equipments;
  • Reworked the character customization screen;
  • Reworked the town interface;
  • Removed the "Rank" system;
  • Removed the weight system;
  • Removed the item storage system;
  • Reworked the consumables system;
  • Reworked the loot system;
  • Reworked entire shop system from scratch;
  • You can now sort shops by categories;
  • Reworked Accessories System;
    • You now have 2 Accessory slots that you can equip items with special properties;
  • Reworked Dungeon UI;
  • Reworked combat HUD from scratch;
  • Rebalanced the initial gifts and added new ones;
  • Changed the initial Gold your character has (from 0 to 300);
  • Rebalanced the cost of resting inside the Inn;
  • Rebalanced enemy stats;
  • Rebalanced player/enemy health and damage for higher numbers;
  • Slightly changed how the save file information is displayed;

Of course, not all minor changes and bugfixes should be listed here, these are the ones I can mention from the top of my head, but this should at least give players an idea of what I've been working on for this entire time.
